Marilyn brings a strong knowledge of product development, management, marketing strategies and highly successful technology product launches. She has a strong background in translating complicated technology concepts into simple language easily understood by non-technical audiences. She strongly believes that technology companies need to simplify their message so that "regular" customers can understand how to leverage the power of technology to sell more real estate.
Prior to forming her own consulting group, Marilyn was President and CEO of Surveyor Corporation, a leading provider of Web camera software and hardware. While there, she launched the first ever web-based remote monitoring system for families, called See My Baby. She transitioned the company from a "think tank" to a viable commercial organization, commercializing several products for both the consumer and B2B (business to business) marketplaces.
Prior to Surveyor Corporation, Marilyn was VP of Strategic Planning and Worldwide Marketing for Fisher-Price® toys. She was the company's leading change agent, assigned to several turnaround situations and new business start-ups. While there, she launched over 1,000 new products and four new divisions. She was responsible for marketing and branding efforts, managing a multi-million dollar marketing budget. She headed up a joint venture between Microsoft® and Fisher-Price® which produced a highly successful product line. Marilyn also launched a highly successful eCommerce and Direct Mail business using her in-depth knowledge of direct marketing.
Marilyn is a graduate of Cornell University and is a frequent speaker there, as well as California Polytechnic State University. Marilyn has led national research projects for the National Association of REALTORS® and others. She serves on the board of the Council of Multiple Listing Services (CMLS) and Council of Cornell Women, and has served on the board of Women in Technology International. She is also a contributor to the best-selling management book At The Helm.
